Silicon Shells

Back in 2023, when the new "Marathon" game was a mere 30 second gameplay trailer and two paragraph pitch, my mind whirled on the idea of piloting around a robotic shell and being able to re-download yourself onto multiple different bodies as an extra lives system, and got to work making a One-Page-RPG for it.

The mechanics are decently integrated enough with the core concept, with each "Shell" having a loadout that influences die-rolls and interactions with the environment, the loss of a shell being penalized through a mechanical loss of "self," and a scavenging mechanic to take advantage of the game's gear-based resolution mechanic and a method to appease loot-hungry players. Overall it's a simple enough system that can do well for a one-shot, but it would likely be difficult to stretch this into a campaign. It's not one of my best games, but still, I think it's unique and robust enough to warrant its existence.
